First statistics from Hesa on extent of zero-hours contracts show 3 per cent of ‘typical’ workforce have them, but figure is far higher for ‘atypical’ staff

The number of security personnel seems to me to have increased exponentially. King's College London is crawling with uniformed personnel and visitors have to sign in and get a sticker. It creates an unwelcoming atmosphere. Of course, KCL is located in an area vulnerable to terrorist attack, but still I think they have gone overboard. Security staff are overwhelmingly black and male and reception desk staff tend to be Eastern European white and female.
