Not exactly on topic, but aside from the staff hired there is also the overall reduction in staff without any thought of the role of tertiary education as a public good rather than a corporate endeavour. If the elitism of the past was a problem the singular power of the present is sad if not dangerous. The ITP sector in NZ has exactly the same problem in terms of hiring practices and work expectations.
