David R. Garcia is a professor at the Mary Lou Fulton College for Teaching and Learning Innovation and director of the Arizona Education Policy Initiative (AEPI) at Arizona State University. He is a former legislative staffer with the Arizona State Senate and was the 2018 Democratic candidate for governor of Arizona. He is the author of Teach Truth to Power: How to Engage in Education Policy (The MIT Press, 2022).
