We are seeking an excellent academic to join our staff on a specified purpose contract basis as an Assistant Lecturer in Spanish and Latin American Studies. The person appointed will have a proven record of teaching, research and publication, appropriate to career stage. 

They will be expected to make a strong contribution to the teaching programme in Spanish and Latin American Studies and undertake teaching duties on the School’s undergraduate and postgraduate programmes as well as contributing to the supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate theses and research projects.

Assistant Lecturer (2025)  Salary Scale: €41,682 p.a. (1 point)

Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions.

About the role

King’s College London is seeking candidates at all levels of experience with the drive and passion to deliver high quality customer service to support our strategic aims. This is an ideal opportunity to commence or further your career in Higher Education administration.

The School of Education, Communication and Society are looking for a Programme Officer to join our education team supporting teaching across the School.

The Programme Officer will support students and academic staff as the first point of contact for queries, whether face-to-face, via phone or electronic media. They are responsible for essential work to support the delivery of our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and for ensuring that student lifecycle activities run smoothly, ensuring that our students and staff experience our services in a seamless and effective manner. With support to develop a working knowledge of regulations and processes, the Programme Officer is a valued and trusted member of the team with a keen eye for accuracy and detail.

This is a full time (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered  a fixed term contract until June 10th 2026 .

About you

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria


	Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to draft documents and correspondence   
	Excellent organisational and time management skills, adept at meeting tight deadlines and managing competing priorities, with a willingness to seek and utilise support as needed.
	Ability to work as part of a team and relate to a broad range of stakeholders in a professional and assured manner   
	Ability to work independently and take initiative 
	Strong numeracy skills and the ability to analyse complex data 
	Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office (including Excel) and the ability to quickly learn new systems 
	Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy at all times   
	Understanding of good customer service, and ability deliver this to a high standard


Desirable criteria


	Degree level or equivalent qualification or experience 
	Experience of working as an administrator in higher education  
	Experience of working in a customer-facing environment

The appointee will join the Faculty of Business (https://www.ln.edu.hk/fb/) and will be expected to conduct research projects and publish outputs with high impact, teach courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and participate in academic and professional activities. In particular, the appointee is expected to apply for external competitive grants and commit to teaching excellence and active services to the Faculty and the University. Candidates are required to provide evidence of their research records and quality teaching. A proven record in academic leadership and institutional service would be a distinct advantage.

General Requirements

Candidates should have (i) a PhD degree in Information Systems or a relevant discipline; (ii) a strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals in Information Systems and relevant areas; (iii) a good track record in competitive grant applications; and (iv) relevant teaching experience.

For appointment of Associate Professor, candidates should have at least 5 years of relevant experience in research and teaching, with a strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals and a soundtrack record in teaching and competitive grant applications in relevant areas. Top-tier journal publications and successful GRF applications would be a distinct advantage. For appointment of Assistant Professor, candidates should have a good research record and demonstrate strong potential in publishing high-quality papers. Relevant work experience is not required but would be a plus.

The conditions of appointment will be competitive. The rank and remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The Finance Directorate is responsible for approximately £300m of income and expenditure annually, with around 7,500 staff and students having access to our Finance systems to initiate, review and approve financial transactions and reports. Based within the Finance Directorate the successful candidate will have a key role as part of the Finance Helpdesk team who are responsible for providing the highest standard of professional advice and support on a broad range of Finance matters to all our students, staff, external customers and suppliers. This role primarily involves dealing effectively with finance enquiries ensuring resolution within required turnaround times. The ideal candidate will have experience of working with Unit4 Business World On within an HE Finance environment. You will have experience of providing excellent customer service delivered with enthusiasm and commitment to providing the highest quality of service and support. With excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you will have the ability to work effectively as part of the Finance Helpdesk team as well as providing support across the wider Finance Directorate.
