University of Bedfordshire - Relief floods in

Staff and students have collected about £30,000 for victims of the Pakistan floods following a university fundraising campaign. The University of Bedfordshire launched its own drive to help last month, and pledged to match all the money donated by individuals. Les Ebdon, the institution's vice-chancellor, and Ashraf Jawaid, deputy vice-chancellor for external relations, handed over the sum on a visit to the country, when they also awarded an honorary doctorate to Pakistani philanthropist Abdul Sattar Edhi.
