Some VCs just don't get it. The days of simply telling the b-school to take on more to make up for shortfalls elsewhere (usually in schools that couldn't be bothered recruiting or innovating) are gone. The global market has changed beyond all recognition. Support for growth of international students is down in government and among communities. The days of endless abundance are gone, which means those leaders who came of age in it are not fit for purpose.
