This is unacceptably i ll-informed. Brown and Penn as "bastions of progressive politics"? None of the newly targeted nine are "bastions" of much more than name recognition, most often conservative tendencies, and approx. geographical distribution. Penn and Brown were among the first two major institutions to give to trump last winter and spring. Both the "reporter" and the "expert" know little about American universities or politics. THE must do better than this. :Divide and conquer" is irrelevant, meaningless phrase mongering. They could make a bare beginning by glancing at US news media if not more.
