The sector has already lost and is continuing to lose an entire generation of researchers. Some disciplines will never benefit from British research. The whole sector has been mismanaged to death.
So research will only be done it it's paid for externally, that is by industry or Govt. Wonder what sorts of research will NOT get commissioned, paid for, done? Move along now, nothing sinister to see here, do not talk about this, do not even think about this........
how do you define an "elite university"? how does a university become an "elite university"?
