And note that two Russellers have offered £500 per student whose final degree grade is delayed - this seems to be an amount reflecting hassle/anxiety caused by the U’s breach of contract? Or might be under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 for delayed ‘service’ where there is a new right for the consumer to demand a price reduction? Where the ‘graduate’ suffers consequential loss (eg a job offer is rescinded) there will probably be due additional damages. Expect all Us where industrial action has delayed finals marking to be mimicking this £500? And good news that Us are not trying to hide behind a force majeure exclusion/limitation of liability clause - the recent CMA guidance on the student qua consumer indicates that such terms are probably unfair under CRA15 and hence unenforceable.
