Prior to my recent professional short visit to the UK, I sought an appointment to meet the Director of the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS, University of London), Prof. Adam Habib, in order to discuss potential collaboration with a public university in Sri Lanka. He did not even have the courtesy to acknowledge my request, let alone offer an appointment to meet.
