I hope that the NAO made note of the large sums that have been spent by Universities on legal settlements with students and staff.
It will be an uphill battle for the OfS to 'build trust' within the sector. At present there is none, it's seen as a peddler of flawed metrics, and an organisation that is failing to be independent from politicians, attempting to meddle in & micromanage something they don't actually understand.
It will be impossible to build trust, whilst the OfS continues to undertake consultations on its regulatory approaches, but then dismisses the expert insights provided by those that that truly know and understand the sector and does what it intended to do all along.
