University of East Anglia - Green travel advice heeded

A sustainability project conducted by the University of East Anglia appears to have changed the way local residents travel. This summer, staff at East Anglia asked 250 households to carry out a survey about their travel behaviour and offered them personal advice on sustainable travel. Dawn Dewar, the university's transport co-ordinator, said: "This type of approach is relatively new, but the results have been very encouraging." Participants said they were now more likely to drive fuel-efficiently, explore public transport options or walk.
