Amy Jewell, a student at the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff, has used her experience of obsessive-compulsive disorder as the inspiration behind her final degree show work.
Ms Jewell, who is taking the contemporary textiles practice course, said: "I wanted my work to sympathise with sufferers and also to raise awareness of the disorder."
Her work, part of this week's summer exhibition at Uwic, has two parts: a gallery space with dirt and mould, based on confronting fears, and a sterile corner with a projector portraying that the dirt is in the mind.
Ms Jewell said that doing the work for the exhibition helped to put her teenage experience of obsessive-compulsive disorder behind her. "The message that I'm sending out is the title of the piece, 'It's OK, Everything's Fine'."
