A network of designated "media academies" was launched last week to encourage colleges and universities to work with industry. The network of 17 academies was devised by Skillset - the UK Sector Skills Council for the Audio Visual Industries. It involves 43 colleges and universities that are already centres of excellence in television production and interactive media.
