The Augar review could be a watershed moment

The report states that HEIs should become more effective and efficient users of the funding they receive but does not address key factors to enable that -- such as shared services, regional optimisation of course offerings and digital transformation. All of these initiatives require coordination if they are not to be left to each HEI in isolation to address.
