The Parkinson's Disease Society has awarded more than £157,000 to Leeds University researchers to investigate how proteins in the brain and environmental factors contribute to the development of Parkinson's. The research team, led by Philip Robinson and based at St James's University Hospital, will also look at whether there are environmental factors that influence the effect of alpha-synuclein on how well mitochondria work.
