Scotland's vibrant music scene has prompted Glasgow University to offer the country's first postgraduate course in popular music studies.

Martin Cloonan, course convenor of the MLitt in popular music, said the course was open to all students with a good undergraduate degree, not just music students, as it will engage with the culture of popular music, not just the music itself.
