This situation is very prevalent in Australia, especially among South East Asian students. What hasn't been mentioned is the transformation of outside University sex work into the offering of sex for better grades to University staff. This has become quite common in Australian Universities and is an easy way to graduate without having to do the work - however these graduates tend to fall down in the job market because their knowledge and skills do not match the reality.
