I agree with author of this article, but I have a side-note Regarding British universities. Universities in the UK are becoming cash cows towards international students. Russell Group Universities gain over 5 billion pounds annually just from international students. As an international student graduate from a Russell Group university, I have noticed since the submission of my application to many British universities including some of the Russell Group members, I was surprisingly shocked to be accepted in all of them were I was rejected from some of the US counterparts! I was rejected from University of Southern California , University of California San Diego, University of Washington, Wake Forest University , Duke, University of Rochester. But I got accepted into Warwick, Durham, Newcastle, U of Liverpool, Sussex, Southmapton, Exeter, U of Glasgow. I see what happens in Australia has similarities to what is happening in the UK.
