As academic career moves go, Stephen Charters' appointment is a sparkling achievement, having just been appointed Champagne professor at Reims Management School.
Dr Charters, an Oxford law graduate, moves to France from Australia, where he has been senior lecturer in wine studies at the Edith Cowan University in Perth. He will develop specialist postgraduate courses and an executive summer school.
