"However, ominously for the nations of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, this fund is being developed by the Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government – an England-only ministry. Thus, as ever, it will be a matter of, “for the UK, see England”. One thing that’s for sure though, funding won’t be coming from that elusive Brexit dividend." I highly doubt this funding will apply only to England. However, let's face it: much of the money supporting Wales will come from English taxpayers; English universities produce much more world-leading research than universities in Wales. If the author is worried about post-Brexit funding then as an MP he should be proactive in perhaps creating a Welsh research fund.
