Research affecting public health and the environment is at risk because of cuts facing laboratories funded by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, unions have warned.

Prospect, the union representing Defra scientists and specialists, has produced a report - Who's Looking After Defra Science? - that considers the implications of government reviews of the labs.
