50-75 Academic posts, but what about the support staff, no mention of the departmental Admin or technical staff that no doubt will also be going too. 'In a statement, the University of Southampton said that its plans outlined on 13 November “are not redundancies.” ' not quite what the 'President' (VC) told the staff in his 'broadcast', where the University will be seeking "Voluntary Redundancy" in the first instance, with 'Compulsory Redundancy' as an option if not enough volunteer. Nor any mention of the Universities use of appraisal 'moderation' to put staff onto the underachieving part of the bell curve, with the less than veiled threat of leave willingly and you'll get a good reference, fight it and you'll have the stain of being dismissed for capability issues.
