Museum research fillip

Museums, galleries, libraries and archives will be eligible for government research funding from April, it was announced this week. The National Portrait Gallery and the Tate are among those with "academic analogue" status that can apply for funding from the Arts and Humanities Research Council. Until now, only staff working at UK universities have been eligible.
