Museums win funding

Four university museums have won a total of £325,000 from a national £2 million scheme to improve museum displays and public access. The Fitzwilliam Museum at Cambridge University has been awarded £250,000 to refurbish its Egyptian galleries; the Museum of Natural History and Pitt Rivers Museum at Oxford University have won £64,000 for a joint visitor reception area; and Oxford's Museum of the History of Science has been awarded £8,000 for audio guides to its collections.
