An initiative to link disaffected communities and higher education in Wales was launched today by Welsh Assembly education minister Jane Davidson. First Campus will offer mentoring and learning support for pupils in target schools in deprived areas of Wales to help raise achievement and aspirations. It is to be run by the University of Glamorgan, University of Wales Institute Cardiff, and University of Wales College Newport.
