The Further Education Funding Council has agreed to a phased resignation of all governors at Basildon College, given "extreme concerns" over financial management and quality.
A meeting of the FEFC's council last week concluded it was satisfied that Basildon's governing body had "accepted the seriousness of the situation". The college is working with the FEFC on an action plan for recovery.
