Two Chilean students were arrested outside the Universidad de Concepci"n last week during protests at a reduction of up to 50 per cent in their winter vacation. On the other side of the city, police used tear gas to break up demonstrations by 200 students from the Universidad Cat"lica de la Santisima Concepci"n over "insufficient" credit facilities.
