Scots lecturers lobby MPs to scrap fees

n The Association of University Teachers Scotland is to ask Scottish MPs in Westminster to pressurise the government to axe tuition fees in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The AUTS holds its annual council meeting at Strathclyde University tomorrow, when delegates are expected to back a motion supporting the full implementation of the Cubie report on student finance.

Andrew Cubie is to appear before Westminster Parliament's education select committee next month.
