A fully translated version of an Irish-language online public access catalogue (Opac) is providing full web search facilities in English and Irish for students at St Patrick's College, Drumcondra, part of Dublin City University.

This is the first time the college library will have had access to an automated library system. Readers will have access to more than 300,000 book references, using the Talis Library Management System. Orla Nic Aodha of St Patrick's College said that it was the first Opac available in Irish on the internet.

The university library service plans to extend the service with links to other net resources.
