The Focus website is a new online guide to teaching techniques and web-based learning tools. It provides lecturers and teachers with a one-stop solution to producing learning materials for the web. The site has been developed by a six-member consortium: the universities of Ports-mouth, North London, Southampton, Loughborough, Glasgow and Sheffield College.

Case studies match the tools to specific teaching techniques. Lecturers and teachers are invited to make contributions to the database - both case studies of their experience in implementing web-based learning in the curriculum and further reviews of web-based systems. The project is funded by the Higher Education Funding Council for England through the Teaching and Learning Technology Programme.
