UCAS likely to handle UfI applications

* Applicants for University for Industry courses will probably be routed through the University and Colleges Admissions Service. "UCAS is actively pursuing a system that will allow UfI entry," a UCAS spokesman said.

At present many part-time students enrol at a local university or college. "We are building up our database to include part-time courses. There are more than 45,000 courses listed and more are added each day," the spokesman said.

UCAS will also handle applications to the University of the Highlands and Islands.
