Nursery workers win parity with technicians

TWO nursery workers have won a six-year battle for equal pay against Oxford Brookes University. Rose Chalmers, a former deputy nursery manager, claimed she should have received the same as a senior cartographic technician at the university, who earned Pounds 1,500 more. Karen Boyce, deputy nursery manager, compared her post to a senior physics technician, who earned Pounds 1,700 more. The university has agreed to give both women back pay to make up the differential.
