Perhaps it is worthwhile understanding why these students are working in the sex industry: is it their dream profession? Are they struggling to make ends meet? Is it an easy option to put themselves through Higher Ed? Is it the only thing they feel they can do well? Rather than ostracise groups based on how we value the activities they do, I would suggest removing judgement and realise that it's these groups in society that education will benefit the most, should we succeed to support them through it. Widening participation and facilitating social mobility are equally applicable to these students, not just a tokenistic box-ticking duty focused towards those from 'poor backgrounds' which fit our profiling.
I trust they are also planning to discipline students who attend lap dancing clubs, hire strippers, or otherwise engage in the "softer" end of the sex industry. And of course, those who visit prostituted women and buy the right to use them in exchange for money
