Greenwich gaze focuses on naval college deal

GREENWICH University believes it may have resolved problems connected with its bid to move into the Royal Naval College.

Greenwich has submitted a revised business plan to the future proprietor, the Greenwich Foundation for the Royal Naval College, after the foundation reduced the amount of space it was offering to the university. Managers have said that the university will pull out of the deal unless it gets the space it needs to make occupation viable.

The business plan, prepared by independent City finance experts, demands the same space but suggests a "different configuration of use" within the college buildings. The foundation says it is discussing the plan and will make a decision in the autumn. Trinity College of Music is also interested in moving into part of the site.
