Moreover, the ESRC discriminates against some disciplines more than others. Business and management academics comprise 20% of the social science community. Yet suddenly, and with no explanation, esrc funding for applications in Business and Management fell off a cliff. In 2011/12 Annual ESRC Facts and Figures, page 22, 1 of 68 responsive bids from business and management funded. In 2012/13 Annual Facts and Figures, page 18: 2 of 17 (its not suprising the submissions fell given the previous year) In 2013/14 Annual Report page 40: 2 of 22 The British Academy of Management has raised this as a concern, but not even received an acknowledgement, yet alone an invitation to meet. In a personal capacity, I am adding my voice to those calling for a seperate business and management research council.
