Tecs register Pounds 33m surplus, but 16 post a loss

Sixteen Training and Enterprise councils made a loss in the financial year 1995/96, including the Merseyside TEC which showed a deficit of Pounds 2,868 for the year, lifelong learning minister Kim Howells has revealed. The figures show the 74 bodies have a combined surplus of Pounds 33,352,406 for 1995/96.
