More about the report and the toolkit for recruitment and retention of top fundraising staff here: http://www.morepartnership.com/news/an-emerging-profession-report-on-philanthropy-workforce-published-today
David’s article focuses on the ‘over-promotion’ point, which is certainly discussed in the report. But that’s only one part of the picture. The report shows that higher education fundraising attracts very good people – we just need more of them. The report also highlights the need to do more to ensure that we retain people in fundraising roles and calls for an increased focus on recruitment, development, and a clearer delineation of career paths.
