Inverness debates confidence in management

Inverness COLLEGE academics yesterday marked election day by debating confidence in the college board and senior management. Staff leaders had sought management support for a moratorium on proposed Pounds 1-million cuts, which they fear will lead to one in six staff losing their jobs. But John Ward, convener of the Educational Institute of Scotland branch, claimed Monday's board meeting had rejected a staff proposal for a joint bid to the Scottish Office to renegotiate the college budget. Janet Price, the college principal, declined to comment.
