Sufferers from the eating disorder bulimia nervosa may soon be treated more quickly thanks to Bob Palmer, senior lecturer in psychiatry at Leicester University. He is studying 160 sufferers to see if a short dose of therapy when the disease is first diagnosed is more effective at returning sufferers to normal eating patterns than a longer programme.
