Dundee University's senate was this week set to consider a proposal to axe undergraduate teaching in education.

Students have already protested at plans to withdraw the department of educational studies' MA course, which has around 190 undergraduates. Vice principal David Swinfen stressed that there was no proposal to close the department, which could build on its existing postgraduate work.
