York conference hit

An environmental protest group has sabotaged a York University biology conference sponsored by biotech giant Bayer, which has interests in genetically modified technology. The protesters are thought to be linked to a group known as Bayer Hazard. A university spokeswoman said the protesters entered the conference room, sprayed the walls, poured liquid nitrogen on chairs and damaged equipment.
