I remember a colleague of mine. Had a lab in the US and a secret lab of 30 people in China that was well funded. His publications only acknowledged the US lab as did his funding applications to the NIH. He outcompeted other PIs who did not have his resources. I am bloody glad Trump put an end to this. "Scientific talent". What a lie.
