Thumbs up for Scotland's comprehensive schools
Scots back the country's current system of comprehensive education, according to researchers at Edinburgh University's Moray House school of education who collated a Scottish Executive consultation on the future of the school system. But Professor Pamela Dunn said there were calls for a more flexible curriculum and small class sizes.

Students take refuge in Côte D'Ivoire embassy
Students from Burkina Faso who have been studying in Côte D'Ivoire have taken refuge in their country's embassy in Abidjan after being accused of collaborating with the rebels fighting government troops in the northern part of the country.
