University of Greenwich - Nonagenarian's generous gift

A 92-year-old retired college head has donated £100,000 to help students with fees and living costs. The gift, to the University of Greenwich, was made by Kathleen Jones, former principal of Avery Hill College in Eltham, which is now part of the university. Her donation will fund scholarships for students studying education and training. It is one of the largest ever made by an individual to the university.
