Britain's chances of securing an impressive haul of gold medals at the 2012 Olympics will be boosted by the University of Central Lancashire, if all goes to plan. The university has won a contract to train sports coaches across the UK, piloting a new Level Four UK Coaching Certificate that recognises the highest standards in coaching. Nigel Garratt, senior lecturer at Uclan's School of Sport, Tourism and the Outdoors, said: "This is a major coup for us ... as the countdown begins to 2012 and the Rugby League World Cup in 2013, we're looking forward to playing our part."
