Three new universities scoop Queen's prizes

A record three new universities have been honoured in this year's Queen's anniversary prizes.

Greenwich, Middlesex and Oxford Brookes were among the 17 prizewinning institutions recognised for outstanding achievements. Middlesex won an award for the third year running, this time for topical work in its Flood Hazard Research Centre.

Loughborough, Oxford and Queen's University, Belfast also picked up prizes for the third time. Surrey University won a prize for the first time.
