Just a minute. I have read a largely unreferenced paper published in a British journal intended for magistrates. It was full of scientific inaccuracies. Another positional journal produced in England failed to notice the absence of law surrounding Environmental issues which was both essential and relevant to the articles produced. In addition the editorial paid absolutely no attention to the underpinning scientific principles missing from any of those papers. In short the journal made assumptions well beyond the qualification of contributing authors. At least one of these journals can be found on Lexus Nexus. Manipulation of information is just that. It is however dangerous when information in journal a or b is being passed off as fact and could be acted upon by those with powers to do so. As a former pharmaceutical representative for a blue chip company, scientific research papers were often worded in such a way as to fool a busy G.P. or hospital doctor. Fortunately the drug concerned was nothing more than a placebo and hence could do no harm. Have a healthy scepticism concerning ANY research UNLESS the research has been tested and retested in different laboratories. As for any social science research well that's one version of the story isn't it, now go and do what scientists have to do to be taken seriously. Frankly the name of the journal does not matter and should not matter, it is the quality that means accuracy of the research which is important.
