Oxford University academics and students are to demonstrate in support of animal research.
There are fears that the march, planned for Saturday, could see clashes between the provivisection demonstrators and groups of antivivisectionists who have been targeting Oxford because of its decision to build a new animal research laboratory.
The protest has been organised by student organisation PRO-Test.
