Soas staff cut battle

The Association of University Teachers was this week preparing for an industrial dispute with London University's School of Oriental and African Studies, over planned redundancies. The AUT said it would use "all means necessary" to oppose four compulsory redundancies in the school's library, which the union said represented 20 per cent of total staff. Soas was unavailable for comment as The Times Higher went to press.
